What Does In-Home Care Cost?
If you ask, most seniors would like to remain living in the comfort of their own home rather than move to an Assisted Living Facility. And as a family member or friend, we understand and try to respect that choice. But sometimes, events happen that make us realize that perhaps assistance may be needed to ensure our loved one can remain at home. That’s where Your Home Companion can help.
We provide in-home senior care. All of our services are non-medical and include light housekeeping, medication reminders, transportation, assistance with doctor prescribed exercises, meal preparation, just to name a few.
In-home care costs are an affordable option. According to A Place for Mom’s article on Elderly Care Costs, in-home care costs can range from $14.00 – $24.00/hour depending upon the city and state you live in.
Our in home senior care costs are tiered. The more hours of service you require, the lower the rate. And, our in home senior care costs do not go up for nights and weekends, nor is there a fee for driving to the client’s home. We charge one flat rate per hour depending upon the number of hours needed.
For example, if we provide a caregiver for you or your loved one for 4 hours a day, five days a week, then you would receive an invoice for $380.00. You wouldn’t be charged extra if the caregiver came on the weekend or at night.
Most insurances do not cover in-home senior care services, however, there are other options. Long-term care insurance does cover our services. And if you’re a veteran, the benefits you receive should cover some of our services as well. Plus, in-home care costs are tax deductible.
Our in home senior care costs are tiered.
Compared to nursing homes or assisted living facilities, in home senior care costs are an affordable option. Plus, in-home care provides more personal, hands-on assistance than nursing homes or assisted living facilities. That’s because we only have one client to care for in the home, as opposed to 20 or more per caregiver/GNA in a nursing home or assisted living facility.
Not only are our in-home care costs less expensive, we can assist in preventing falls and accidents that could lead to a trip to the doctors or possibly the hospital. We do this by providing a Safety at Home risk assessment to ensure that falls and other accidents can be avoided. We also assist our clients with daily medication reminders to ensure they are taking their medications at the prescribed times and not forgetting or doubling up on them, which can also lead to a trip to the doctors or the hospital.
